Let Us Pray

Precious Lord,

I honor You as the one true and living God, maker of the heavens and the earth.  I worship You because You are holy.  You are sovereign.  You are omnipotent.  You are omniscient.  You are eternal.  You are the great I AM, and there is no one greater than You.  You are merciful.  You bathe me in brand new mercies every day, and I do not deserve it.  You choose to shower down Your grace upon me, and I’ve done nothing to earn it.  You are a faithful, promise-keeping God; great is Thy faithfulness. 

I glorify You, Lord Jesus - the only Son of God, the Word of God - for leaving the perfection of Heaven to come to this sin-filled world to teach men that You are the way, the truth, and the life.  You were obedient to do the will of the Father by dying on the cross for the sins of the world, including mine.  I thank You, Lord Jesus, that You did not stay in the grave, but that You rose from the dead and You now sit at the right hand of God, making intercession for those who trust in You.  You are truly the Light of the World. 

I thank you, Holy Spirit - the Spirit of the Living God - for playing such a pivotal role in my relationship with the Father and the Son.  Thank You for being actively involved in every aspect of my life by teaching me the Word of God; for guiding me according to the Word and the will of God; and by convicting me of my sins, which leads to repentance.  I see the changes in my life because You speak to my heart continually.  I love You and thank You for always being with me.   

Father, I’m so thankful that You chose a wretch like me to be called a child of God.  I certainly would not have chosen me.  As much as I try to think, say, and do what is pleasing in Your sight, I fail constantly because of the sin that lives in my flesh.  I ask You, Father, to forgive me.  Forgive me for my actions which lead to sin:  lust of the eyes; lust of the flesh; and the pride of life.  I repent my sins, and humbly ask that You gradually and tenderly continue to shape me and mold me into the image of Your Son. 

I pray for those who are of the household of faith.  I pray that they may continue to fight the good fight by remaining steadfast and unmovable in their walk with You, knowing that their work is not in vain.  Help us Lord, by Your Spirit, to be walking epistles so that we may testify of Your goodness.  You alone deserve to be glorified.    

I pray for those who have yet to confess the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.  Please continue to show them Your great mercy.  Your Word makes it clear that Your judgement is coming, so I thank You for Your patience and longsuffering as Your children continue to spread the Gospel to those who are lost. 

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, both now and forever.  Amen.
