In three days

In three days, the Lord would have gone up to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover with His disciples. He was to be betrayed and hung on a tree. There, separated from the Father, He died for you and you alone. Many things were revealed in the upper room. The servant of the Father displayed he had come as a servant to humankind. By washing the feet of His disciples, He exampled the life they were to keep as well. He demonstrated that the Prince of the Power of the Air had a hold over humans, yet he also demonstrated God was to use this evil for his plan of redemption. Christ's omniscience provided Him with what was in the heart of Judas Iscariot for which Christ sent Judas out to complete.

You are My Friends

In the upper room, Christ said his farewells to His disciples leaving them with the hope of the resurrection. From the upper room to Gethsemane, Jesus was internally preparing himself to drink the cup of wrath which would set us free from sin.

The Wrong Man

You see, after He was crucified the Jews could not accept Him as the messiah because He was hung on a tree. He was a curse and a cursed man certainly could not be the messiah. (Deuteronomy 21:23 ESV) “his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance. Christ became a curse for you and me. The Greeks would not accept Him as the messiah because He was crucified like a common criminal, He was weak. So, for both of these groups, Christ was not enough.

King of Kings

Yet, when you comprehend the cross you realize the opposite was the truth. Yes, the Jews were correct He was a curse. “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 ESV) By Christ becoming a curse we have been freed from sin and death. He was strong enough to endure the stripes, the pain, and the suffering so that He could complete the redemptive plan of God. His strength allowed Him to endure. He overcame death and rose again. He is the King of Kings who will never taste death with a strength able to wipe out entire armies. He was enough! For both the Jews and the Greeks He is everything they required but could not see because they did not grasp the gospel. He is the King of Kings! The Angels saw Him standing at the gates of heaven commanding them to open and they said who is this? No Man has ever made it this far…..

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah Psalm 21 7-10 ESV

Just ask

Look at yourself in a mirror, there is nothing inside nor out that keeps you from Christ. No deed done, no shameful sin, no failure that can keep you from Him. He is enough, enough to cleanse your sins, restore you to God, justify your existence, and sanctify you while he carries you through this world. Don’t wait for Him any longer. Reach out to Him, believe in Him, the Son of God, 100% human 100% God, who suffered died, and rose again in bodily form ascending into heaven. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. Please just ask……
