Happy Mother's Day!

Proverbs 31:26-27 “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”

Bible scholars attribute Proverb 31 to the writings of King Lemuel. In this Proverb, Lemuel writes of the teachings of his mother. Written under divine inspiration, Lemuel writes of the virtuous woman while listening to his mother as she describes sins that Satan would use to tempt him and cautions him to avoid.

Blessed be all mothers today. Like Lemuel's mother, they caution, guide, and comfort us. In Messiah wishes a Happy Mother's Day to all mothers. They gave birth to us and, like Hannah, let us go. None of us would be where we are today without them in our life, right or wrong; they have had a divine influence on us all.

How could we not mention Mary, the mother of Jesus? We can figure that at some point since Gabriel did not lay out the plan of redemption for her, Jesus did. Even though she knew he would suffer and die, all she did was support him, just like our moms.

Blessings, Moms everywhere. May the peace of God be with you. Mom…. kiss the Lord's feet until I get there to do it for myself.
