Can You Open the Door?

“And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.” (Luke 13:23-24 ESV).
Friends, many read this scripture and see only the challenges of salvation. I do not see that. What I see is hope. The Lord tells us we must strive to be more like Him. Jesus says that many will seek to enter and will not be able to. We have assurances in our salvation, but as Paul said, What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?(Romans 6:1 ESV) We will continue to sin because it is in our essence as descendants of Adam, but we must strive not to sin. We must recognize the triggers that cause sin and avoid them. Satan can put a minefield of sin before us, but Christ helps us navigate that field. Many will not find that narrow door. I am seeking it, knowing all the well it will be hard to find.
There is a difference between believing in Christ and knowing Christ. That difference will keep many from entering the narrow door. If you do not know Him, if He has not changed you, and if His Spirit does not live in you, seek Him now. Our time on this earth is finite. I could die while writing this post (and pray my wife posts it for me). Actually, that would be a pretty cool way to go, but my point is do not wait to know your Savior. You will regret it in the end.
God loves you; I love you.
Peace and Grace!
